What do I need to bring with me?
Comfortable
non slip shoes as there will be a fair amount of standing during
the day. Aprons, Knives and all other kitchen equipment are
provided on your French cooking holiday
What exactly do you mean by interactive and hands on?
We mean
that after being shown how to prepare and cook the dish, its
then your turn to produce the same dish. Under our guidance of
course.
What if I'm unsure about certain foods?
Don't worry
– We wouldn’t make you do anything that you wouldn’t care for.
However if there is something that you really don’t like or you
are just not sure about, please let us know when you book and we
will take that into account when planning the weeks menus.
Are Kitchens dangerous Will I be safe?
Our kitchen
is semi professional there will be sharp knives and there will
be equipment and machines you may not have used before. We will
always show you how to use the said knives and equipment safely
there is a fully equipped first aid kit at hand and Christian
has undertaken a recognized first aid course, we take safety
very seriously here.
Can I take a copy of the recipes home?
We will provide you
with a file full of all the recipes tips, tricks and points to
remember that you will learn during your French cooking holiday with us
Is there a chance I may put on weight?
Possibly,
we wouldn’t want you to come to stay with us and be hungry. We
will be cooking healthy balanced meals and enjoying some
wonderful French wine, but as usual on holiday you may indulge
more than you would normally do at home. But hey it is a
French cooking holiday!
Im not very comfortable with my knife skills does it matter?
No not at
all we will show you how to handle the knives properly.
What if the other students are more knowledgeable than me?
Don’t worry
there is no rush. We are very patient and will take time to
explain every thing clearly. When you book we will ask if you
are a beginner or budding professional, then do our best to
group you with clients of similar ability
Do I need to bring bed linen and towels with me?
No, we
provide all bed linen duvets and towels. Should you need to wash a
personal item this can be arranged.
What can my family do whilst I am cooking?
The Regional
Natural park of Perigord limousine is a wonderful place to
explore. There are guided walks, Historical places of interest.
The area hosts the route of Richard the Lionheart. We have a
fact file full of interesting places to visit including, local
Farmers markets, Velo rail, Natural swimming lakes and pools,
bike riding, Canoeing, pony or donkey trekking, and fishing
Through out the year villages in the local area have many fetes
and craft fairs. In fact there is so much to see and to do you
may find it hard to fit it all in!
We are
flying in to Limoges airport how will we get to MasD`Arneix?
You can either hire
a car from the airport or we can arrange airport transfers
for your French cooking Holiday.
